n/aThe taxi tariff in Hongkong is designed to provide a clear and structured way for passengers to understand how their fare is calculated. When you start a taxi ride, there is a base fare of HK$ 29.00. This base fare covers the first 2.00 kilometers of your journey.
After you have traveled 2.00 kilometers, an additional charge of HK$ 10.50 applies for every kilometer. If your trip includes any periods where the taxi is waiting, such as when it is stuck in traffic or stopped at your request, the rate is HK$ 102.50 per hour.
There are certain extras that may be added to your fare. If you book your taxi by telephone, an extra charge of HK$ 5.00 applies. If your trip uses a harbour tunnel, the fee for this is between HK$ 10.00 and HK$ 15.00, depending on the tunnel used. For each piece of luggage, there is an additional charge of HK$ 5.00.
