n/aThe taxi tariff for Wellington is set to provide a clear and transparent way to calculate the cost of a typical taxi journey. When you start your ride, a base fare of NZ$3.98 is charged as soon as you enter the taxi. This base fare covers the initial part of your journey.
As your journey continues, you are charged an additional NZ$3.25 for every kilometre travelled. The distance-based fare applies to all further distances without any changes for longer journeys. If your taxi stops or moves slowly and you are waiting, the waiting time costs NZ$100.00 per hour.
If you use a taxi for airport travel, there are extra charges. For a pickup at Wellington airport, an extra NZ$5.00 is added to your fare. For a drop off at the airport, the additional charge is NZ$4.00.
