n/aThe taxi tariff of Wels sets out how taxi fares are calculated for rides within the city. The fare you pay depends on the time of your journey. During the daytime, from Monday to Saturday between 6:00 and 21:00, there is a base fare of €6.40. At night, from 21:00 to 6:00, and throughout the whole day on Sunday, the base fare is €7.20. The base fare covers the first 1.00 km of your ride.
After the first kilometer, the price per kilometer is €1.72 for the next 4 kilometers. For any additional distance beyond these 4 kilometers, the price per kilometer is €1.49. This means the longer your journey, the lower the rate per kilometer after the first few kilometers.
If your taxi ride includes waiting time, the tariff of Wels also specifies a charge. For daytime rides, the waiting time is charged at €30.00 per hour. For rides at night and on Sundays, waiting time is charged at €33.00 per hour. Waiting time includes times when the taxi is stopped or moving very slowly, such as in traffic jams or at traffic lights.
